BEST ONLINE YOGA PROGRAMS TO TRY NOW

best online yoga

Local governments around the world have closed all non-essential businesses – Including yoga studios like mine. Yoga is an essential for so many people though. It helps us relieve the acute stress of this time that will cause long-term harm to our health. That’s why I want to share my picks for the best online yoga programs for your home practice.

I am blessed that I was in the process of launching an online yoga option through my studio even before Covid-19 reached the U.S. But, two weeks ago, my mental health and the health of my business, was questionable.

Today, I vulnerably share that I did allow myself to be a victim of Covid-19 related stress. But, then I remembered to use the mindfulness that my yoga training and practice taught me. Thanks to my mindfulness practices I am grateful that both my physical and emotional health are once again flourishing.

BRITTNEY’S BEST ONLINE YOGA PICKS

Originally when I opened Effervescence YogaSpa in 2017 I also had a unique idea to share yoga virtually with our members. My original intention for this was so that they would have a place to feel at home when practicing yoga while traveling for business or during our now seemingly abundant hurricane evacuations.

Honestly, I did not even think that a pandemic would be a reason to offer online yoga. I’m grateful now that I had it in mind for other reasons!

Here are the stories of my best online yoga picks. I know some of these studios personally. But, others, like Ashes Yoga Studio in Seattle I experienced virtually – and love!

You may notice that these studios are off-the-beaten path. In the spirit of Peaceful Living Wellness I chose studios that are not in the major markets of New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. At PLW we believe in bringing-up those who are coming up!

ASHES YOGA STUDIO, SEATTLE, WA

A boutique yoga studio in Seattle, WA Ashes Yoga Studio took the approach of swiftly switching every class, workshop, and Yoga Teacher Training to the digital sphere after having to close due to Covid-19.

Owner Ashley Hagen shares, “I’ve shifted my yoga studio, yoga classes, and yoga teacher training into the online world during this time of COVID-19. It’s something I’ve actually wanted to offer for a while now, so this was the perfect opportunity to finally launch. I’m having a great time learning new techniques and ways to serve my students from afar. The students are so grateful and my positive energy has been a light to those in darker times. I’m actually having so much fun.”

IN2 YOGA, LAPIER, MI

With recent massive closings of yoga studios around the globe, I shared my knowledge on how I developed my virtual yoga studio in a free training session and met Lisa.  Lisa Madden is the Owner of IN2 Yoga Studio forced to shut her doors during the spread of Covid-19.

When speaking with her I learned how she chose to quickly pivot, “After meeting you through your webinar, I got the Zoom account and met with my 8 teachers and we started scheduling classes. We are a rural small town, and I wasn’t sure how people would respond, but with quick action, we’ve been able to offer 2 classes a day from our individual homes (as of Monday we were ordered to stay home)–and students are so grateful and participating!  We truly feel connected to one another. It’s clear that we all need this!”

EFFERVESENCE YOGA SPA, BEAUFORT, SC

A luxury Yoga Studio and Spa in Beaufort, SC we chose to temporarily close our doors March 18th. The biggest struggle with our business was in fact the inability to offer massage to our clients. We chose to pivot quickly by offering our current Elite Plus Members, those who receive massage and yoga each month, the opportunity to have their massage appointments accrue for each month we are temporarily closed.  Each of our current Unlimited Yoga Members will receive a complimentary half-hour massage once we re-open.

After the first week of closure, we became more accustomed to teaching yoga through our live virtual classes and have a virtual wellness studio that hosts our recorded yoga classes we originally created for our members.

Best Online Yoga

Within Effervescent Living we offer a full library of recorded yoga classes, meditations, self-care mini-courses and delicious recipes that our members have full access to. We have taken the initiative to assist our members in learning how to use our digital platforms and are having success with attendance in our LIVE Virtual Yoga Classes via Zoom.

It is such a pleasure to have an idea that before seemed like an unnecessary bonus for many, to now an exciting way to offer yoga to many in the ease and comfort of our own home, or wherever we desire to take yoga.

MOVE FITNESS, BLUFFTON, SC

Aerial Yoga and Fitness Studio, Move Fitness in Bluffton, SC chose to close their doors to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. As an Aerial Yoga Studio, their offerings are quite unique as students utilize “silks” to fly above their yoga mat. Not many people have this set up at home, so to best serve her community, Karrie Comeau Founder of Move Fitness chose to pivot and offer yoga classes virtually.

She states, “ I chose to temporarily close the doors to Move Fitness for the safety of this community. One of my goals for this studio was to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, and I couldn’t accomplish that with the growing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. While I know a home practice does have its challenges, and live stream classes do have their limitations, I love being able to still connect with students and to give them an hour where they can disconnect from social media and focus on breathing and moving. We need engagement and community now more than ever, and if I help just 1 person to feel some ease and peace during this time, then I know it will be worth it.”

MOVE, BREATH, RELIEVE STRESS

Well worth it indeed! If you are feeling the pressure, anxiety, or fear during this moment of crisis, I invite you to virtually visit one of my picks for best online yoga studios and feed your body with movement. Not only will you receive healing in the power of movement you will also help a small business thrive during this time of uncertainty!
