The GO-TO
Finding your go-to thing, I believe, is important for mental and physical health. There are no rules on what your “go-to” has to be. If it is a thing, person, place…WHATEVER YOU WANT…is what you should unapologetically have in your life. My go-to thing you ask?
MY GO-TO
TRAVEL !!!!! ….I love planning my next trip
What initially was planned as a Texas > Nashville > Cabin in the woods trip turned into a cabin only trip due to last minute changes with other people’s concerns regarding COVID. I must say though, I am not disappointed that my road trip was cut short because it was well worth it. Don’t worry, that Texas > Nashville > Gatlinburg extended trip for NEW YEAR’S will be done and you better believe it is already planned out LOL
Y’all know (my southern twang just came out lol) I love a good road trip from my previous blog post ☺ so when I plan my road trips I try to GO BIG or STAY HOME !
Anyways…
This year for my birthday, I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and choose a place where I can mentally decompress. With all of the COVID-19 concerns, it was difficult to find a place where I felt comfortable…but I found it nonetheless!
Cute little oasis
In a small little horse country town of Jamestown, TN I found the perfect little cabin. Secluded but still 20minutes from Walmart so easy commute for groceries and junk food LOL. I personally have never stayed in an AirBnB before this trip so I was beyond hesitant of cleanliness standards. This Treehouse Cabin in JamesTown, TN was the perfect little getaway
Driving from Georgia to Tennessee was a breeze and once we hit TN, you really start to appreciate the wooded forest mountains. I love nature (looking at it…I don’t do bugs though LOL) and the views are honestly indescribable. Driving through the little town to the cabin, there was just endless fields of grass and woods, with so many beautiful horses and cattle. It just makes you want to stop and go for a ride ☺
The cabin backs up to a hiking trail and is a short drive from Pickett State Park so there are numerous outdoor activities you can do that are cost efficient. Inside the cabin there is a booklet that the owner provides with contact information for horseback riding, winery tours and instructions on hiking trails as well. There is also a cute guest book where everyone that has previously stayed in the cabin writes a couple words…see mine below ☺
If you ever need a quiet place for a getaway check it out…you won’t regret it
Now…I want to give you all some tips finding your go-to thing/person etc. and making sure it suits YOUR purpose that YOU WANT for YOURSELF.
3 tips on selecting your GO-TO
- Ask yourself “what part of myself does this serve?”
- If you can’t answer that question….find another option for your go-to
- Your go-to should be something that helps you feed the part of your soul that is sometimes not fully understood by anyone but you
- FACT ABOUT ME: Everyone still thinks I am crazy for wanting to travel the way I do and not being afraid of doing so with travel friends I have never met prior to our trip together…Ask me do I care…..NOPE! lol because the people that travel with me have something in common that is mutually understood…Travel is our GO-TO thing
- Does it give me mental & physical release?
- Having something in your life that serves you mentally and physically is a strength in itself. Being able to calm your mind by doing an activity such as traveling, yoga, exercising, reading a book etc. is always priceless
- Can I easily explain this to anyone that questions me?
- See Chantre’ says below #1
Now, I want you to understand that finding your go-to won’t be easy for everyone. It took me years of just going through the motions of school & work only, to realize what truly would serve my soul. WITH THAT BEING SAID…
Chantre’ Says,
- DO NOT WASTE YOUR ENERGY EXPLAINING OR APOLOGIZING TO ANYONE ABOUT DOING SOMETHING THAT SERVES YOUR SOUL !!!
- Say this again out loud 3 times so you can hear yourself saying it
- If you aren’t PHYSICALLY hurting anyone then….DO YOU (just know I said that with a neck roll LOL)
- You are responsible for your own peace…your own mental and physical release
- No one else can take on this responsibility in your life but yourself no matter how much our loved ones may want to
I want you to say this out loud with me
MY MIND IS STRONG, THEREFORE I AM STRONG
My humbling truth
It took me years to be able to realize that I do not have to explain or apologize to anyone else, even family, about why I choose to do something that I feel is giving me PEACE within my life. We all have our own journey, and it is up to us to CHOOSE to how we live it. About a year ago I made the CHOICE for myself, to begin seeing a therapist. I knew that I needed to work on building my mental strength and learning how to calm my mind in order to CONTINUOUSLY GROW into the woman that I knew I wanted to be in my life. No one understood why I wanted to discuss my business with a stranger (rolling my eyes)…but I chose to stop trying to get them to understand the battle that I had internally both mentally and physically.
No regrets
It was the BEST decision I made at 27 years old…and I continue to see my therapist each month.
My want for you?
I want you to understand, finding places, things, dogs ☺ or even people that serve to calm your peace of mind is the first step to the level of strength that I want you to have in your life.
Mine is traveling…if you need a travel partner join in on our group trips…Bali 2021 is to go so message me on my Facebook page and I will send you the itinerary
You have to want to find your GO-TO for YOUR OWN peace. Your STRENGTH is yours for the taking…and NO ONE can take that from you
Until next time my friends…
Your travel buddy and friend,
Tre’
My name is Chantre’ (Tre’ for short). I am a military brat and soon to be a military wife. I have two fur babies; a Rottweiler named Duke and a German Shepperd named Aurora. I am a travel agent that specializes in EVERYTHING!…mostly fun quick trips or international trip for me personally, but I love researching for every client as if I am traveling with them.
Traveling is where my passion lies. Being in school my whole life, I am at the point where I am now settled and ready to begin my journey to explore the WORLD as much as possible. I have a yearning to see new things and cities, and experience other beliefs and cultures. As a young woman, it can be difficult to find other women that are in the same mindset as I am, and who are ready to take this journey with me in this season of my life…this is why I started my @tres_travelexperiences business and blog. I want to be able to share my experiences with others who share my passion for travel, but are being held back. Experience traveling through my journey.
I am passionate about being able to connect with other women no matter age or background, that are seeking travel experiences as I am, and just need someone to travel with like me. Prior to meeting my love, I was fully prepared and had literally booked a 15 days trip to Europe…SOLO. The amount of courage it took, I cannot even describe but I am thankful to God that He settled my mind, heart, and soul to take the leap. I know every woman may not want to do the same, so I am more than happy to plan a trip for others, whether big or small, solo or group.
