Are you tired of fighting your frizzy hair, heat damaged hair, or dry skin everyday? If so, now is the time to protect your skin and hair with nourishing DIY recipes.
There are many benefits to making do-it-yourself moisturizers for you skin and hair. Many face creams and shampoos use harsh chemicals that dry out your skin and hair. Avoiding these harsh chemicals (especially for the long-term) is essential to your personal care.
Here are some do-it-yourself hair moisturizing + skin moisturizing recipes to keep both looking and feeling incredible.

What to do: Use a coffee grinder or blender to grind the oats into a powder. Next, melt the 1/2 cup of coconut oil in a pot. After it is melted, add the 1/4 cup shea butter to the oil. DIY Hair Moisturizers
1. Shea Butter and Aloe Vera: The combination of these two ingredients is excellent for protecting your hair from breakage, sun damage, and dry scalp. Add 1/2 cup of both in a reusable container at room temperature. Mix together evenly and apply to freshly washed hair to lock in moisture.
2. Coconut Oil and Honey: Great for heat damaged hair, and helps prevent breakage. Mix 1/2 cup of coconut oil and a 1/2 cup of honey. Leave on for 1 hour, then rinse with lukewarm water. This treatment will make your hair follicles stronger, and it promotes less breakage in the future. Tip: This treatment works best when applied to wet hair.
3. Banana Almond Hair Mask: Mash up one banana until it is mushy. Add 1 teaspoon of almond oil. Mix together and apply to wet hair. Massage into your hair and leave on for 1 hour. Rinse with lukewarm water. The almond oil will help promote hair elasticity and keep hair moisture locked in.
4. Egg and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Hair Mask: Crack one egg into a small bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and mix together. Let sit in hair for 1 hour and rinse with lukewarm water — style hair as usual.
