2020: A new decade, and a new chance to change your life.
Around the time I started running, I also started cleaning up my thoughts through a conscious mindset shift. The running helped, but I was becoming more and more aware of that I had been telling myself–things that just weren’t true! I started to become friends with my anxiety.
Happy New Year Lovelies – As we reflect on not only a new year but a NEW DECADE now is the time to take note
“NEW YEAR, NEW YOU? NAHHH… YOU ARE GREAT JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!”
Going into a brand new decade is an auspicious occasion. I was having a hard time coming up with an appropriate topic as I have been thinking about blog topics for my New Year’s blog.
Sometimes the most profound sayings come from the young: When the Korean boy band, BTS, sings, “The only time you should ever look back is to see how far you’ve come,” we should all listen. Looking back is a time to cheer ourselves! So if you are comparing yourself to others, and getting down on yourself, STOP IT!
I am one of those overly cautious- everything planned out type-A souls that does not do well without a plan of attack. Leaps of faith are not for me. I have courage if I have a plan.
I am likely to take a small hop IF I know the exact depth of the water, how cold it is, and whether or not there is a current that is going to suck me out into the ocean. I like to have my days scheduled out at least a week in advance. I like to know the results of what I’m getting myself into before the project begins. I like to go through all possible scenarios of any and all situations. I have a back-up plan for my back-up plans. It is an epic understatement to say that I don’t do well with the unknown.
