Can we all agree that 2020 was the buzzkill of our yoga practice?
Is it just me?
Before the pandemic, yoga studios were thriving with in-person yoga classes that would fill to the brim. My studio, Effervescence YogaSpa, was personally packed to the gills every Friday morning at 9am, and was joyfully followed by coffee and conversations. These moments were glorious and I can not believe that two years later, we are still in limbo of what we can and can not do.

After the initial stay-at-home orders came into place, I closed my physical space to make it virtual, and the use of my already-created on demand yoga studio was in full force.
Now, it seems with these last two years my personal practice has diminished to practice only when I teach. I need a yoga reboot and my friend, I thought I would share how to make this happen in case you too, are experiencing a yoga lull.
Take a Yoga Workshop
It’s true! One of the best ways to reboot your love for your yoga practice is to enjoy a yoga workshop. For me, workshops create a fresh new look at my yoga practice and they often offer insight in experimentation in something new. I personally get excited and begin to play more and more with my yoga practice after a workshop.
Participate In A Yoga Challenge
If you need a boost and crave community, a yoga challenge is a great way to reboot your sleepy yoga practice. Our 28 day yoga challenge often encourages our community to dust off the cobwebs and get back on the yoga mat. I have heard from many that they have received a new love of their yoga practice by challenging themselves to practice every day for the month.
You may begin this at any time, whether it is through a structured challenge or with a group of friends that agree to participate with you. Treat yourself at the end of the month with a fancy dinner together — even if you complete only 19 days out of the 28!
14 Day Yoga Kickstart!
Similar to the challenge, but more of a work at your own pace method, my 14 Day Yoga Kickstart will generate accountability emails straight to your inbox with a small variety of yoga class styles to try within my on demand yoga studio. This means you will have the choice to take classes from a beginner’s mind or ramp it up to a more advanced style. Within the 14 days you will have free access to the library of previously recorded classes from EYS teachers. I welcome you to check it out and let me know how your yoga reboot is coming along.
Whether you choose a workshop, a challenge, or my 14 Day Kickstart, I trust you will begin to fall back in love with your yoga practice. It is absolutely a ok and normal to say to yourself the moment you reach your third downward dog, “why haven’t I done this more often?” I say this during every class I teach, twice a week!
I look forward to “seeing” you on the mat!
