Simple Steps To Intentional Manifestation

Manifestation. The word that has been thrown around since the movie The Secret became wildly popular in the early 2000s. My personal experience with that movie did not occur until a decade later in 2012 when I was rapidly on the verge of losing my job as a yoga studio manager and becoming catapulted into my role as an entrepreneur. 

When I first learned about manifestation and the law of attraction, I began playing small games with it to see how it worked. I then realized I had been utilizing manifestation since I was a child.

Manifestation is something we all experience every single day. The difference that I witnessed while playing with it more and more is that some of us are intentional with what we manifest — and others are not. 

Here are my tips on how to utilize manifestation intentionally so that you may begin to receive what you actually desire in life.  

  1. Ask Clearly: I remember the time I wanted to be a traveling yoga teacher and so I asked in 2012, “What would it be like to be a traveling yoga teacher?” I got exactly what I ASKED for, not what I initially wanted. I was traveling up to two hours away from my home for yoga teaching gigs, in my car. What I wanted was a luxury experience of international travel. haha! My clearer Ask would have been, “What would it be like to travel internationally and be paid as a traveling yoga teacher?” See, clarity.
  1. Meditate: If you weren’t aware, meditation is one of the secret sauces to manifestation – specifically so, visualization. Think of it this way. When you wake in the morning you have a brand new day ahead of you. Oftentimes we wake up and visualize what we need to do throughout our day and then we get up and begin to do them. When you sit in a visualization meditation directed toward envisioning yourself with the manifestation you desire – you are placing yourself into the energy of it existing already. Imagination is powerful for manifesting what you desire. Use a meditation technique to enhance your imagination. When we meditate, we receive inspired action which is our most effective element of manifesting intentionally. 
  1. Inspired Action: An important element of manifestation is inspired action. This is where you take the initiative toward what it is you desire to manifest into your reality. However, many believe it needs to be hard work in order to have anything show up. This is not necessarily true. Say you want a new car – begin looking at cars, maybe even test drive one. You do not need to build a new car to receive it. It may even show up as a gift to you. The simple act of going out and looking at new cars is the proof that you are sending out that you are taking inspired action toward your desired manifestation. 
  1. Believe: Believe it to see it. This message I received from Dr. Wayne Dyer as I was enjoying his you-tube videos in 2012. It’s when I first heard of Abraham Hicks, brought to us by Esther Hicks. Believe it to see it is the step in manifestation many people forget about or overlook. We often feel the need to “see” something to feel it is real for us. What if today you believed that what you are manifesting is coming to you? It is similar to purchasing a product online, you make the purchase (ask) it is being sent to you (act) and you know it is on its way to you (believe). The same works for your manifestation, you ask, you act, you believe, and eventually your desire is on its way to you. 
  1. Receive: When we receive, we may forget this important step – gratitude. What if you lived in gratitude for all that you have manifested so far in your life? When was the last time you looked at all you had in your life and thought, I am so grateful and thankful? Take a moment to sit with gratitude, list within your mind all that you have already. One step further is to write down all of the gratitudes you have that come to mind. For example you may begin with “I am so grateful now that….” and finish the sentence. This assists us to get into a joyful state which allows us the ability to manifest more of what we desire and less of what we do not. 

Manifestation is simply a tool we may use to begin to live life more intentionally. Many times, we get stuck in our day to day life and live almost as if we are robotic. In doing so we create a bit of a mundane life and at times this can cause stress. 

I wonder if for today, you began to play with manifestation through a curious mind.
