The Four Elements of Astrology: Earth, Air, Fire, Water
It’s the middle of spring and the element of Fixed Earth has arrived. This marks the midpoint point of the Spring season. Some of you may understand what I’m saying, while others may not, so bear with me while I attempt to explain. There are four seasons, as most people are aware: spring, summer, fall, and winter. For the sake of these lessons, we must also examine the four elements: Fire , Earth , Air , and Water , as well as how they affect the four seasons. Each element expresses itself differently depending on the time of year and whether it is the Cardinal, Fixed, or Mutable (or beginning, middle, and end) of that season.
You would not be here if you hadn’t already lit your Spring Fire . Between April 19th and May 20th, the Fixed Earth element shows itself. This topic attracted your attention for a multitude of reasons. You may have paused to read this because you’re bored, need a break, or are a stargazer… Perhaps you just want to look at things from a new angle. So you begin with an idea and then integrate that framework. How do you integrate that framework you may wonder? You’re in luck because the element Fixed Earth , also known as immovable Earth, represents our foundation or the fundamentals. So we’ll start there.

Let me begin by telling you a story, since I am a far better storyteller than I am a writer 😉
When we initially traveled across the country we were in a 23-foot travel trailer. Thank Goodness, my hubby and I clearly love and appreciate each other’s presence! We intended to buy a house on a larger piece of land or parcel of land and build our own. However, as many of you are aware, we are now in the grip of a pandemic. The real estate market is unlike anything we’ve ever seen, and don’t even get me started on the high cost of fuel.
So when we looked around the market we realized that it was more than we wanted to invest, or even could invest in certain situations. As a result, plans changed and we had to make a decision. I needed to take a step back and look at my foundation. What was the starting point for ME? What did I need, at my core, to make my dreams a reality? What were my building blocks?
I learned BIG Life Lessons in that Tiny space, less than 300 sq ft to be exact. Like the true power of give and take, as well as the importance of knowing your limits and establishing your boundaries.. I discovered new ways to communicate. And after almost a year and a half (I know, I know!), I realized that, although I didn’t dislike Tiny Living, I did not enjoy the way I was doing it. So it had come to this. I needed to reconsider what was important to me. What do I need right now? The lessons I have learned were priceless. For starters, I am a big advocate of self-care. What I needed was space to practice yoga, meditate, create art, and just be myself and I wanted it all in a beautiful setting.
Let’s rewind to the end of 2020… ugh!
You see, at the end of each year, I fill out a goal book to help me set my goals for the year to come. Now trust me when I say that the above mentioned building blocks, i.e. yoga, meditation, creativity, and nature, were definitely on my to-do-list. Because being a self-care advocate isn’t just something I just write about… It’s a way of life for me, and I’m prepared to go to any extent to be true to myself.
And, to be honest, I prefer the thought of living like a turtle and carrying my house on my back. This implies I’ll always have a place to actually live. Home is what you build within your four walls, and since this is my life and my dream, I get to pick what sort of home I build. And so do YOU!
If you’ve been following along with my series, you’re probably aware that I choose a power word for the year, and my word for 2021 was “try.” This year, I had a little trouble coming up with a word. Several thoughts occurred to me. I could probably go over the list here, but I’ll spare you the trouble. I needed a word that embodied who I was at my core. It was then that the word “queen” came to mind. That’s right, ladies (and gents), my word for 2022 is QUEEN, and I want to not only treat myself like one, but also rule my kingdom like one.
My definition of home was altered and my way of life was transformed. I had to revise my definition of success and began to see the world in a new light. It all started with the concept of establishing a goal and then identifying what steps needed to be taken to attain it. So, I began to research tiny houses…
Now, fast forward to the present. My business is mobile, my home is on wheels, and the flexibility I’ve gained by taking a step back and adjusting my foundation has completely transformed the way I move about this planet.
