What says summer more than watermelons and lemonade? Mix them together in this refreshing summer drink and the entire family will be happy all summer long!
Dr. Z’s Watermelon Lemonade uses juice from fresh lemons and watermelon for that fresh summer drink flavor. And, of course she keeps it healthy by sweetening with coconut sugar, which is much lower on the glycemic index than white, table sugar and has many nutritional benefits!
Even if you are having smaller, social-distancing, get-togethers this summer you will still want to pamper your guests with this refreshing, healthy, summer drink!

INGREDIENTS
- 5 cups cubed watermelon
- 3/4 cup lemon juice (4-5 lemons)
- 4 cups filtered water
- ¼ cup coconut sugar (optional)
- Mint springs for garnish (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place watermelon in a blender or juicer and pulse until you have a nice puree.
- With a mesh strainer, strain the watermelon into a bowl so that you just use the juice – IF YOU USE A MASTICATING JUICER, LIKE THE ONES PICTURED ABOVE, YOU CAN SKIP THIS STEP.
- In a large pitcher add, watermelon juice, lemon juice, water, coconut sugar and mix until blended into watermelon lemonade!
- Pour over ice and garnish with a mint sprig
You can make watermelon lemonade ahead-of-time and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. This summer drink recipe is so easy you won’t mind making it on a regular basis.
