It’s Women’s History Month! We learned about all the amazing women in history who paved the way for us to be who we are today. This is one of the reasons why it is important for us to keep talking and “shaking the table.”
As someone who runs a women’s empowerment group, I always find it interesting that many still don’t realize how much their voice matters. Your story can be the motivation another woman needs, but you’ll never know if you continue to sit in the shadows.

Our Top 5 Tips for Peaceful Living
“I don’t want my business out there,” “I am an introvert,” and “I don’t want to upset anyone” are all common reasons I’ve heard and told myself. However, how exactly will changes and actions happen if you don’t speak up?
Below here are some reasons why you (and I) need to speak up and ways you can do so.
It’s Therapeutic
There’s a reason why it’s important to have friends, a coach, a therapist, etc in your life. It’s not good to keep everything bottled inside. “I like being alone” & “I don’t have any friends” are a couple of reasons I’ve heard as a rebuttal. No. We are social creatures and it’s important for us to communicate.
If it’s been awhile since you’ve connected with someone or truly don’t have anyone in your circle, take advantage of the social groups on social media like Peaceful Living Wellness or Mom Moguls Networking group.
It’s Motivating
Your story has the ability to encourage someone to make that final decision. For some reason, women still feel awkward talking about themselves and their wins. I should know, this was a topic I brought up to my therapist about my own life.
What has been helping with that mindset is simply surrounding myself with women who encourage others to talk about themselves. This is about to sound really cliché, but hearing their stories has been inspiring and shows that we CAN achieve what we want. It just takes the right circle and mindset.
Women Need You
“How could someone need me? I’m just a (insert a title here).” Simple. We want to hear the how and why. How did you get to where you’re at now? Why did you decide to do what you want to do? Our words and life story holds so much power. So you decided to be a stay-at-home mom? How do you like it? What would you tell other women that want to be a stay at home mother? Tell us more.
You decided to work a 9-5? What field are you in? Is this something you always want to do? Tell us more about it.
You decided to start a business? How was the journey for you? What did you discover? Are you planning to keep going? Tell us more.
You catch the drift. It doesn’t matter what background you come from, there’s a piece of advice hanging in there that can help the next person, in this case woman, win.
Where and when you decide to share your truth depends on you. It can be as simple as telling a friend or associate what happened when you decided to take a leap of faith and start something new or sharing your journey on Social Media.
There is no right or wrong way to do this. All that matters is you made history by equipping the next person with words.
