It’s so important for us mom’s to put effort into living a healthy lifestyle. Our kids are watching everything we do…even those things we think we’re hiding. That’s why I have put together this list of 4 Must-Have Tools For Healthy Moms JUST FOR YOU!
I love comparing the importance of putting our health as a top priority to what we’re told on airplanes. ‘In the event of a sudden emergency, should the air masks drop..put yours on first SO THAT you’re able to help others”
What the heck does that have to do with healthy moms?
Everything! If we’re not healthy our family isn’t as healthy as they can be, we don’t have energy to do all our mom responsibilities, we’re cranky and tired which makes us irritable with our family.
We’re not taking care of ourselves first SO THAT we can help/be the best mom to take care of our family.
You know I love to make healthy living easy for you so today’s post is all about some must have tools you need to be a healthy mom.
These tools are just for YOU! You have permission not to share ❤
Glass Water Bottle
We all know that water is necessary to life; yet, so many of us don’t drink enough.
Water is necessary for every single cell in our body. We need it for energy and for great skin.
And let’s just face it – healthy moms drink lots of water!
The amount of water you should be drinking in a day depends on your body weight, activity level, if you’re in the sun, etc.
Let’s start with body weight: take your body weight in pounds, divide it in half and that is the amount of water you should be drinking in ounces.
So a 100 pound person should drink 50 ounces of water in a day.
If you’re active or are in the sun for a long time, drink more!

Why glass?! Because ALL plastic is toxic! Yes, even BPA free plastic has other chemicals in the BP family which disrupt our hormones and contribute to cancer. (1)
Better Skin Care
We women LOVE our skin care products!
Unfortunately, 90-95% of the products out there contain anywhere from hundreds to thousands of chemicals that are known to create skin issues, mess up our hormones, contribute to weight gain, produce inflammation, lead to autoimmune issues and more.
You can choose to swap out your skin care products slowly or do it in big chunks. Either way, remember that any step in eliminating these toxins are steps in the right direction that your body will thank you for!
Start by reading the ingredients on your products. You’ll want to toss anything that contains:
- Fragrance
- Parabens
- Phthalates
- Talc
Yes, there are many more toxins in our products, but these will give you a great start!
I know swapping out makeup and skin care products can be overwhelming and we want to make sure we’re getting products that are effective. I’ve researched and tested many products over the years, so I compiled a list of some of my faves and an easy makeup routine for busy mom’s here.
I don’t know about you, but I feel like a new and fancy woman when my nails are painted. Two of my top favorite non-toxic nail polish brands are Zoya and Sophi. Click on the names to see the beautiful colors they have!
Non-toxic, vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics are also a MUST for healthy moms!
Exercise
Don’t hate me! I can’t talk about being a healthy mama without mentioning exercise.
Exercise is definitely NOT my favorite thing to do, but I do it.
You will never hear me tell you what type of exercise to do. Just find something you enjoy that also challenges you.
No you don’t need to go to a gym or spend your life savings on a membership somewhere (why does working out cost so much?!).
I occasionally use free yoga videos on YouTube.
Here are 6 more exercises you can do at home with NO special equipment.
If you do decide to go the gym route, Peaceful Living Wellness’ own Lyndsey Bobola has some great advice on how to overcome that often overwhelming sense of gym intimidation!
Supplements ARE important for healthy moms
Supplements are necessary these days. The quality of the soil that our food is grown in has been depleted of essential nutrients due to poor farming techniques and use of pesticides.
When the soil is lacking nutrients = our food is lacking nutrients = WE are lacking nutrients.
So we must supplement.
I’ve had many people tell me they take some random supplement that was on sale and taking any supplement is better than nothing right?
HECK NO!
While I’m a fan of getting things on sale and even for free, we DO NOT want to be cheap when it comes to supplements.
The quality of our supplements is SUPER important!
My #1 tip when you’re looking for supplements is to look for food on the ingredients list. Our body does not know how to use the synthetic junk that is in most supplements out there. Our body only knows how to use nutrients from food.
Here’s a label of the multi-vitamin I use to give you an idea of what to look for.

Healthy living isn’t hard. It’s all about making one improvement at a time in the healthy direction. These 4 tips will have a HUGE impact on your health and set an amazing example for those little eyes that see what you do.
