Treat Yo’Self Travel: Expert Planning Tips

“Don’t wait for everything to be perfect before you decide to enjoy your life.” – Joyce Meyer

This quote hit home for me in so many ways. Within the span of 2 weeks, a close family member of mine had a health scare, and I also finished my long-awaited masters of business administration degree. Looking back and reflecting on both of those times, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude…but also a slight sense of sadness as well.

Sadness, because I realized how much over the course of this pandemic year, I complained about so many small things…wearing a mask, the grocery store being out of stock of items, not being able to travel to certain destinations. I was so ungrateful and I feel ashamed just thinking of it.

Now…GRATITUDE

Gratitude, because I AM STILL HERE…I have time to make the changes that I need to. I have time to be thankful for my loved ones still being here with me. I have time to be thankful for knowing the precautions I need to take in order to minimize my risk of exposure. I have time to place grocery orders mid-week so I have a better chance at getting items I want.

I have….TIME…to show gratitude for MY LIFE…

The Realization

I want you to think of all the good things that you have accomplished. The small accomplishments — such as finishing a workout before you get your day started….those accomplishments are worth celebrating just as much as the big ones. Realizing that setting any goals, whether small or big, and completing them deserves acknowledgement.

Treat Yo’self ☺

Treating myself for my accomplishments has been such a huge part of my adult life. I sometimes set small goals of working out 5 days, and treating myself with a ice cream and brownie from Chick Fil A. Don’t judge me ☺

Treating yourself…NOW…and not waiting until the perfect time is so important. I have learned that when I am kind and loving to myself, it generates this LIGHT inside my soul that resonates through. Letting others see the glow I have placed within my spirit, simply by treating myself with unconditional love and honesty…it is unexplainable.

I want you to have that same glow penetrating through, so here are some tips to help you decide when to Treat Yo’self ☺

3 Tips to Decide When to Treat Yo’Self:

  1. Big accomplishment: This is the type of goal achieved that has taken long hours to complete. You may have even thought about quitting at some point during the course of it, but yet, you chose to keep pushing forward.
  2. Small accomplishment: These are the little ones, that can add up to the BIG ones. The individual tasks that mean so much in the grand scheme of things. It would be as small as setting a goal of eating healthy 5 days during the week…that is an accomplishment that deserves acknowledgement.
  3. Mental health day: Sometimes…we just need to take a break. Even when we feel as though we have not accomplished much that day, week or month. Feeling overwhelmed with daily life can add up, and hit us like a ton of bricks when we least expect it. Listen to your body, and don’t be afraid or ashamed to tell your loved ones you just need time for YOU…that is ALWAYS OK ☺

Now, you say…”Chantre’ what should I do to treat myself?”

I GOT YOU ☺

I personally love traveling, as you already know…so I love to treat myself with any form of traveling as much as possible. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced me to alter the ways I accomplish my travel treat.

I choose my destinations more selectively, and put more detail into planning where I am able to explore as well. It was so challenging and frustrating to me in the beginning, but now, I am just thankful that I have the ability to travel at all…so I don’t mind the extra precautions and leg work needed to stay safe but also enjoy my life.

Every year after Christmas, I take a vacation. I don’t know what it is about the new year, but I prefer to go into every new year stress free. So I disconnect and focus only on myself for that last week and few days of the new year.

This year, I have decided to take a road trip to visit long-term friends from college and their families. I wanted to see the people that have become MY CHOSEN family. I think with everything that has happened in 2020 with the pandemic, it just helped me realize that 6 years is a long time to not see the ones we love and care about….this has become an important aspect in me enjoying my life.

Soooooo…. “where are you going Chantre’?”

Glad you asked.

I will be traveling from Georgia to NEW ORLEANS!!!!… then up to DALLAS, TX…to see my good friends…meet their new babies and spouses.

Yeeeeeeessssss…..you will hear all about the food, adventure, shopping trips, and more in my January 2021 blog!! Starting off the New Year 2021 with travel because I WILL BE TRAVELING INTERNATIONALLY A LOT next year…safely of course.

Anyways…I want you to feel as confident as I do if you want to travel, so here are some tips that I utilize when I plan my trips.

3 Travel Planning Tips During a Pandemic

  1. Be selective on your destinations: Choose destinations that will allow you to explore and dine, but that also have plenty of options for you to social distance or deliver to your hotel. It is OK to go to those big cities, but if the cities are very congested and you don’t think you will be able to take precautions…choose another one just to be safe. You can always plan a trip to that first city when it is less busy.
  2. Be selective with your travel transportation: Be sure that if you are able to drive…do so. You can control your environment and surroundings so much better when you are driving yourself rather than flying with unknown travelers. I have personally chosen to not begin flying until 2021…starting with a short flight with my selected airline to make sure I feel they are taking the needed precautions BEFORE my long 24 hour destination flights begin later in 2021.
  3. Do your part in staying safe:
    • Do what you are supposed to be doing, even if others around you aren’t. If that means you being the only one in the store with a mask on…do it.
    • Your own safety IS A PRIORITY and that should never be a question.
    • Social distance ALWAYS…no matter if it is regulated or not. If the establishment is not requiring it and seating you close to others…do not be afraid to go to another place.
    • I always call ahead to ask what safety precautions they are adhering to before I go…just so I know if I need to change my plans ahead of time.

No matter where you choose to go…just be as safe as you possibly can without hesitation. It is perfectly OK to enjoy the life you have been given. There has been so much loss this year, so if travel is the way you treat yo’self….DO IT. Find what makes you happy, and go all out…safely ☺ and NEVER let anyone make you feel guilty for enjoying the life you STILL HAVE now.

The timing is NOW…do what lights up your soul and brings you joy.

Chantre’ says…

“IT IS YOUR LIFE…LIVE IT THE WAY YOU WANT (safely) AND DO NOT FEEL GUILTY ABOUT IT”

Your travel friend,

Chantre’

My name is Chantre’ (Tre’ for short). I am a military brat and soon to be a military wife. I have two fur babies; a Rottweiler named Duke and a German Shepperd named Aurora. I am a travel agent that specializes in EVERYTHING!…mostly fun quick trips or international trip for me personally, but I love researching for every client as if I am traveling with them.

Traveling is where my passion lies. Being in school my whole life, I am at the point where I am now settled and ready to begin my journey to explore the WORLD as much as possible. I have a yearning to see new things and cities, and experience other beliefs and cultures. As a young woman, it can be difficult to find other women that are in the same mindset as I am, and who are ready to take this journey with me in this season of my life…this is why I started my @tres_travelexperiences business and blog. I want to be able to share my experiences with others who share my passion for travel, but are being held back. Experience traveling through my journey.

I am passionate about being able to connect with other women no matter age or background, that are seeking travel experiences as I am, and just need someone to travel with like me. Prior to meeting my love, I was fully prepared and had literally booked a 15 days trip to Europe…SOLO. The amount of courage it took, I cannot even describe but I am thankful to God that He settled my mind, heart, and soul to take the leap. I know every woman may not want to do the same, so I am more than happy to plan a trip for others, whether big or small, solo or group.

If you have an urge to travel, but no one to travel with …come join me on one of my upcoming trips! On my Facebook page, you will find events where you can register for upcoming trips that I have planned which are open for you to join us. You will also find travel deals that I have created, but can be customized for your specific needs.
